• Boyce Middle School Students Win First Place in 2015 History Bowl

A team of Boyce Middle School fifth grade students came in first place in the annual History Bowl held at the Heinz History Center on Thursday, October 29.

Sponsored by Ms. Susan Fleckenstein, the students competed against schools from throughout Allegheny County. The four challenges they excelled in were a World War II Trivia Quiz, a Pittsburgh Sports Timeline, creating a Heinz Promotional Radio Advertisement, and answering Pittsburgh A-Z questions in the Special Collections exhibit.

The mission of the Senator John Heinz History Center, an educational institution and proud affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution, is to engage and inspire a large and diverse audience with links to the past, understanding in the present, and guidance for the future by preserving regional history and presenting the American experience with a Western Pennsylvania connection.historybowl
