    “Wild World Of Animals”

    6:30-7:45pm

     

    BUDGET: number of students x $2 + cost of animal trainer (roughly $425)

    The First Grade Social centers around a visit from a variety of “wild” animals and their handler.  The animal show is held in the Gym.  Families then move on to Café Ike for a treat.

    6:30-Check-in

    Families take their seats in the gym.

    6:45- Animal Show begins

    7:00-7:15- Snack Time Begins

    7:45- Dismissal

     

    BOOKING THE ANIMALS

    Booking the animals/handler is the most important step in preparing for this event.  Arrangements should be made as soon as possible to secure a reservation.  A frequent guest has Mr. Grant Kemmerer's Wild World of Animals (www.wildworldofanimals.org), located in Eighty Four, PA.  Grant’s number is 724.239.5511.  His wife Jamie's number is 724.554.1812, and her email is wildworldofanimals@hotmail.com.   

     

    INVITATION/RSVP FLYER

    Invitations/RSVPs should go out 4 weeks before the event and should be due 2 weeks before the social.  This will allow enough time for ordering sufficient amounts of treats.  A sample First Grade Social Invitation/RSVP can be found in the “First Grade Social” bin in the PTO closet.  E-Alerts shouls be used as reminders.

    TREATS AND FAVORS

    The treat table can be done in a “buffet” format, with students filling animal print paper bags with goodies.

    Treat ideas: animal crackers, goldfish crackers, Swedish fish, gummy animals
