USC HS Marching Band Prepares for Active Season of Musicmaking!
Summer camp for the Upper St. Clair High School Marching Band began on July 30 for leaders and August 3 for the entire band.
With a membership of more than 132 participants, USCHS
Marching Band musicians, Pantherettes, Colorguard, feature Majorette, managers, and student and adult staff members have been hard at work rehearsing their 2015-16 “Funk Show!” including the following “super-cool hit” selections:
- Soul Bossa Nova
- Steppin' Out
- Atomic Dog
- Rock It!
- Talkin’ Out the Side of Your Neck

Early-season performances include the Kennywood Parade on August 10, the Salute to the Band Parents Show on August 13, and “Welcome Back” music for the staff opening day on August 20.
Mark your calendars! Everyone is invited to a commemorative performance this year - the 40th Annual USC Marching Band Festival - which will be held on Saturday, September 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the USCHS Panther Stadium. This year’s festival will feature an Alumni Band (conducted by Mr. James Bennett), the Pittsburgh Steeline, the West Virginia University Marching Band, “The Pride of Upper St. Clair,” and other local high school groups.
You can also see the band at home and away varsity football games, Carlynton Marching Band Festival (September 12), and Bethel Park Band Festival and Baldwin Competitive Marching Band Festival (October 3).
