• High School Senior Brooks Wilding Named 2015 WPIAL Scholar Athlete

    On Monday, May 18, Brooks Wilding was recognized by the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) for his extraordinary high school achievements. He was honored for excellence in WildingMellinger athletics, academics, and school/community service.
     
    For his efforts, he received a plaque and a scholarship worth $1,000. Brooks was 1 of 10 male athletes who won this award out of 107 across all the WPIAL schools.
     
    Brooks has been a WPIAL and PIAA qualifier in wrestling and has participated on a WPIAL and PIAA championship golf team. He is a member of the Spanish Club, Literary magazine, and Calcu-Solve team and also volunteers as a youth football and wrestling coach in the community.
     
    In the future, Brooks plans to study aerospace engineering at Virginia Tech.
