• Boyce Middle School Challenger Team Raises $1000 for Make-a-Wish

Students from the fifth grade Challenger Team at Boyce Middle School recently held an auction for Make-A-Wish®. The students brought in gently-used books to be used for summer reading and then bidBoyceMakeAWish2015 on them.

The class collected a whopping $1,000 which they presented to Ms. Andrea Ballas, Make-A-Wish development coordinator. Ms. Ballas spoke to the students regarding the mission of Make-A-Wish and how their donations would be used.

Make-A-Wish grants the wish of a child diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition in the United States and its territories, on average, every 38 minutes. According to the Make-A-Wish website, “We believe that a wish experience can be a game-changer. This one belief guides us. It inspires us to grant wishes that change the lives of the kids we serve.”

Teachers and sponsors of the charity outreach were Mrs. Beth Harris, Mrs. Krisanne Schaffer, Mr. Steven Nicklas, and Mrs. Christina Caragein.
