• Boyce Student, Carmella McNally, Wins First Place in American Chemical Society Regional Contest!

Carmella McNally, a fifth grade student at Boyce Middle School, won First Place in the regional American Chemical Society’s CCED illustrated poem contest! Carmella wrote and illustrated a poem about snow as part of the Chemist Celebrate Earth Day (CCED) theme contest. Carmella received a certificate and a $50 check for her winning entry!

As part of the CCED 2015 celebration, a community-based annual event that takes place on or around April 22 each year, students from grades K-12 were invited to share their interpretation of this year’s theme, “Climate Science—More than Just a Weather Report,” in the form of illustrated poetry.
