World Language Leader Frau Baird Named “Champion!”
In celebration of its 30th anniversary, the McKeesport-based Consortium of Public Education announced its inaugural Champions of Learning awards in seven categories at a special event held on March 28 to honor individuals, organizations, and businesses that create and support extraordinary learning opportunities for youth throughout the region. Upper St. Clair School District German teacher and World Language Curriculum Leader Frau Deanna Baird was recognized as “Champion” under the category of “Nominator’s Choice” for her unique dual role as teacher and curriculum leader!
“All of the awardees deserve deep gratitude from our community,” said The Consortium’s Executive Director Linda L. Croushore, Ed.D. “We seldom celebrate those who are giving of their vision, imagination, and energy to provide exceptional learning experiences in our region’s schools. Their commitment helps to ensure that our region’s students become the capable workforce of tomorrow.“
The Consortium is a nonprofit organization working with school districts across Western Pennsylvania on initiatives strategically designed to strengthen and broaden school leadership, engage community, and empower students. While concentrated in a seven-county area, its initiatives often spark collaborations in other Pennsylvania communities and inform policy discussions at the state level.
