• USC Wins First Place in the Academic WorldQuest Local Championship!
     
    Four Upper St. Clair High School students won first place in the Academic WorldQuest sponsored by the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh, and they now go on to compete in the national competition in April.
     
    A team of four high school students was one of 45 teams from the area to participate in the annual Academic WorldQuest competition at the University of Pittsburgh on February 24. Sponsored by the World Affairs Council of America, the contest requires students to work in teams to answer questions about current events, geography, history, international relations and business. This year’s competition also included special rounds on Russia, international health, events of the 1950s, and international water issues.

    Upper St. Clair will now represent the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh at the National Academic WorldQuest competition in Washington DC on April 25. Coached by Gifted Coordinator and World Affairs Club sponsor Pat Palazzolo, the team includes sophomore Paul Abrams, juniors Gauravacadworldquest Bhushan and Thomas Mologne, and senior Daniel Pituch,Team Captain.
