One of my favorite historical figures, Benjamin Franklin, once said, "Tell me and I forget.  Teach me and I remember.  Involve me and I learn."  This is the philosophy I take with my math classes.  I expect students to get involved with their learning, actively participate, thereby making their learning more significant.

I graduated from Upper St. Clair High School in 2002 and attended West Virginia Wesleyan College, where I graduated cum laude in 2006 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education.  In 2010, I received my Master's degree in Instructional Leadership in Mathematics Education from Robert Morris University.

In 2007, I returned to Upper St. Clair where I have taught Intro. to Calculus, Precalculus, Honors Algebra 2, Algebra 2, Honors Geometry, and Geometry at the high school, and Accelerated Geometry and Accelerated Algebra 1 at Ft. Couch Middle School.  During the 2020-2021 school year, I am excited to be teaching College in High School Statistics, affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh.

I am an avid sports fan, but baseball has always been my favorite and I was on the Upper St. Clair baseball coaching staff for 12 years.  I have been a Pirates fan since the late 1980s, but I enjoy watching and discussing all levels of baseball.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter, traveling and hiking, reading, and just watching TV.

Now that you know a little bit about me, I'm looking forward to getting to know you and having a great year!
