A native of Pittsburgh, PA, I attended North Allegheny HS and graduated in 2000. Afterward, I attended the University of Pittsburgh Honors College, Majored in History (with related areas in Anthropology and Business Administration) and graduated Cum Laude in 2005. Following undergrad, I received an MAT in History Education from Pitt and interned at Upper St. Clair HS. There I taught Hon. World History and American History. The following fall, I was hired as a Permanent Sub at USC and taught AP/IB Economics and Hon./MYP Civics and Geography. After a year in the private sector, I moved to Sunnyvale, CA in 2008 and worked as a Geography, Civics, Economics and Speech teacher at Leland HS in San Jose. I loved Leland, but my home has always been in Pittsburgh, so I returned as a sub in 2009 and worked primarily in social studies and English until 2011. After another brief stint in the private sector, I was hired full-time as a World History, Economics and English 10 teacher at USC in the fall of 2011. I began teaching IB History

Aside from my educational pursuits, I enjoy being involved with the two-time PHSSL State Champion USC Speech and Debate team, where I have helped in various capacities since 2001. I also enjoy music, sports, movies and reading for pleasure. My family includes my wife, Sarah, and my daughter, Lily.
