Get to Know Mr. LucasHere's just a little bit about me. This is my eighteenth year at Fort Couch. I received my education degree from Grove City College, where I obtained my certification in mathematics, physics, and general science. I also earned my Masters in Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Gannon University. Before coming to Fort Couch Middle School, I taught mathematics and physical science to eighth graders at Wendover Middle School in the Hempfield Area School District.Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Amy, and playing with my kids, Addison, who will turn fourteen in October, Karley, who turned twelve in July, and Jonathan, our 9 year old. Addison is on Team 5 at Fort Couch this year, Karley will be on Team Energy at Boyce, and Jonathan is in Mrs. D's homeroom for his last year at Streams. I also enjoy hiking, gardening, barbecuing, reading, and watching just about any form of competitive sports. I grew up in the midwest, so I am a HUGE Notre Dame football and Cubs fan (we took our kids to Wrigley Field for the first time this summer). My wife and I love taking trips with the family to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware (every summer) and to various national parks. Our latest one was Mammoth Cave in Kentucky. We have lived in USC for 10 years. I spend a lot of my time doing fixer-upper projects around the house.
