WELCOME from Mrs. Kopicko...

    Dear Kindergarten Friend,

My name is Lauren Kopicko.  I am very excited about being your child’s Kindergarten teacher at Streams Elementary School this year.  I hope this letter finds you and your family excited for the new school year.  I have been very busy  preparing the classroom for the school year.  Let me tell you a little about myself.

I have a Masters Degree in Education from Duquesne University and a Bachelors Degree from Slippery Rock University in the field of Special Education.  I have had the opportunity to teach many “incredible” Kindergarten children at Streams, Eisenhower, and Baker Elementary Schools during the past fifteen years.  Prior to my employment at the Upper St. Clair School District, I was employed at The Children’s Institute for two years where I worked with some truly “Amazing Kids”!  I live in Mount Lebanon with my husband and my eight-year old little girl named Leah. When I am not at Streams, I am busy spending time with my family.
I believe it is important to begin developing a child’s creativity at an early age to make learning fun and enjoyable.  Daily lessons in my classroom will include many opportunities to challenge young learners and explore learning in many different ways.

In order to prepare your child for the Kindergarten year, please share my letter with them.  This will help to ease with any first day of school jitters.

I will communicate with you regularly on your child’s academic progress, while keeping you updated on weekly classroom activities.  Please feel free to contact us at any time at (412) 833-1600, extension X6073.

Kindergarten is one of the most important milestones in your child’s life and together we will make this a very special year.

                                               Mrs. Lauren Kopicko
