    Contacting Mrs. O'Leary ...
I strongly believe that open communication between us is essential to a positive and productive experience for your child. If you have questions, concerns, or happy thoughts about your child, I would love to hear them! You can contact me in a variety of ways. Most important information should be written on a note and put in your child's SHARK Binder. I check it first thing every morning. You can also call my extension x6071. I usually don't answer the phone during instructional time and often end up checking voice mails after school, but will return your call as promptly as possible. I also check my email regularly and respond when I get a chance.

shamrockBirthdays ... Birthdays are a wonderful time for celebrating. We have a great time singing Happy Birthday and the birthday child receives a card, birthday pencil, and bookmark. If you would like to send in something to distribute for your child's birthday, it needs to be non-food items. Stickers, tattoos, pencils, fun erasers, etc. are fun things to share.  In the past, some families have donated a game, a puzzle, or art supplies to the classroom. The kids have a great time unwrapping it in front of their classmates and it makes a nice addition to recess during those long winter months.

sharmrockLunch Procedures ... You are always welcome to join us for lunch.  Our menus are now posted online.  If you would like to join your child for lunch, please check into the office to receive a visitor tag. We will meet you at the entrance of the nutrition center. Please respect those children with food allergies and do not allow your child to share any outside food with friends.

shamrockTransportation ... I must send your child home at the end of the day via the means arranged at the beginning of the year. If your child needs to be a car rider, obtain a bus pass, walk home with a friend, etc. I must have a note from you stating a change in travel arrangements.

shamrockTake-Home Folders ... Each day your child will bring home their SHARK Binder.  All notes from me, notes from the office, and schoolwork from the day will be in the folder. I also check each folder first thing in the morning for notes, bus pass notes, absent notes, lunch checks, and so many other goodies!

shamrockAbsences ... When your child is absent, we will place an Absent Folder on his/her desk. As we go through the day, any work that is missed will be placed into the folder. The folder will be brought home by your child when he/she returns or can be brought home by a sibling or close neighborhood friend that day. Take time to go through the missed work and return within the next few days. It is also important to send a note to the office. If you are planning an extended trip, you need to fill out an Educational Trip form. These can be obtained from the office.
