    Welcome to first level!  My name is Matthew Alloway.  This is my 20th year as a first grade teacher in the Upper St. Clair School District.  I am so pleased that your child will be in my class this year.  As summer is winding down I would like to introduce myself and tell you what’s in store for this exciting school year!   

     

    Having grown up in Erie, PA, I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, biking, and swimming.  I enjoyed hiking and camping so much that I earned my Eagle Scout Award after several years in the scouting program.  Upon high school graduation, I went on to attain a Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Family Studies from The Pennsylvania State University.  I then went on to receive my Teaching Certificate from Slippery Rock University.  I continued on to complete my Master's Degree in Administrative and Policy Studies and obtained my Principal Certificate from the University of Pittsburgh.

    In 2005, I married my best friend from Penn State.  Maybe you have seen us swing dancing around the district!  Keep your eyes open this year.....you never know when we'll put our dancing shoes on!  We have three children named Ania, Marek, and Callum.  Our kids have been growing up fast and keeping us on our toes.  Our family loves to cheer on the Nittany Lions, Steelers, Pirates and the Penguins.   

    First level is a very important and busy place!  We will do many activities this year like:
