Hello and welcome to 8th grade Algebra I. My name is Mr. Ali, and I am the mathematics teacher for Team 4. A South Park native and a Penn State graduate, this is my seventeenth year teaching in the Upper St. Clair School District. Prior to teaching in USC, I spent ten years teaching high school mathematics for the Brentwood Boro School District. Having taught mainly ninth and tenth grade 
Geometry during that time, I am well aware of the mathematics skills necessary for students to be successful at the high school level.
The materials you will need for this course include the following: a three-ring binder (one inch is fine) with plenty of lined paper, a basic calculator (the TI-34 is a perfect choice), multiple mechanical pencils, an eraser, colored correcting pens, and a pair of earbuds or headphones.
