    Several qualify for state technology conference

    TSA qualifiersUpper St. Clair High School students garnered several top finishes at the Region 6 Technology Student Association (TSA) competition on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, at Blackhawk High School. Led by Mr. Seth Williams, technology education teacher, the following students qualified to compete in the state-level competition:

    The 2024 Pennsylvania TSA State Conference is set for April 17-20, 2024, at Seven Springs Resort. Top performers will advance to the National TSA Conference, held June 26-30, 2024, in Orlando, Florida.

    The Pennsylvania TSA is comprised of nine geographical regions. Upper St. Clair High School falls within Region 6, which includes southwestern Pennsylvania. TSA offers 40 high school competitions within several career categories, including Architecture and Construction Technology, Communications Technology, Computer Science and Information Technology, Leadership, Manufacturing and Transportation Technology, STEM, STEM and the Arts, and Technology and Research.

    TSA was started by industrial arts teachers who wanted to provide opportunities for their students to be recognized for their accomplishments and was originally the American Industrial Arts Student Association (AIASA).
