    Students read the story: "One" by Kathryn Otoshi

    Classrooms discussed:

    What's the overall/deeper meaning of the story?

    Why do you think people become bullies?

    What prevents someone from standing up to a bully?

    Where do these feelings come from? 

    What would help you to stand up to bullying more easily?

    Ask your family members at home:
    When have you ever had to be "the one"?  
     
    Then students drew a self portrait and wrote about how they can be "the one."
