Sixth grade basketball finishes third in PA

Sixth Grade Team The 2018-19 Upper St. Clair sixth grade girls’ basketball team (team black) finished third in the state tournament – finishing the season 48-1.

“They lost a heart breaker in the semifinals, which was their first loss in over 2 years, but battled back to win the 3rd place game,” Coach Johnny Terlecki said.

The team won both the Chartiers Valley and the South Hills Basketball League championships. In addition, the girls’ team finished first in each of the tournaments they competed including the West Allegheny Best of the West, the South Fayette February Frenzy as well as the Upper St. Clair Tournament, which they hosted.

“The girls had a fantastic season, and worked hard all year. Coach Huzjak and I are very proud of their effort,” Coach Terlecki said. “Their goal next year is to win the state tournament!”
