USC administrator elected to PASBO board
Upper St. Clair School District’s Director of Business and Finance Scott Burchill has been elected to the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials Board of Directors. The election results were announced on March 7, 2019, during the organization’s 64th Annual Conference and Exhibits in Hershey, Pa.
Mr. Burchill, who will begin his term on the PASBO board on July 1, 2019, is a member of the PASBO Communications Committee and currently serves as president of the Southwest PASBO regional chapter that serves Allegheny, Fayette, Greene and Washington counties.
A member of the Upper St. Clair administrative staff since January 2017, Mr. Burchill leads the district’s business office and oversees the areas of transportation, food service as well as operations and maintenance.
Previously, he served as the business administrator and school board secretary for the McGuffey School District in Washington County for 12 years. In addition, he served in a similar capacity for the Ambridge Area School District in Beaver County for three years.
Mr. Burchill earned a master’s degree in business administration from Waynesburg University and a bachelor’s in accounting from The Pennsylvania State University.
A resident of Upper St. Clair, Mr. Burchill and his wife, Kimberley, have two school-aged daughters Myla and Madalyn.
PASBO is a statewide organization with more than 3,000 members, two-thirds of whom are K-12 non-instructional administrators serving in the areas of finance, accounting, facilities, transportation, food service, technology, communications, human resources, purchasing and safety. PASBO’s mission is to develop and support leaders in school business operations by focusing on educating its members through professional development opportunities as well as keeping them informed of the latest legislative issues affecting school business through workshops, an annual conference, specialty conferences and publications.
