All About Mrs. Hendrickson

I was born and raised in Illinois in the western Chicago suburbs. I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois, where I also ran cross-country and track and field. I met my husband, Davis, at Illinois, where he played baseball. I knew I wanted to pursue my Master's and chose to do so at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon in Special Education. After two years, I moved back to Illinois and started teaching.

For two years, I worked as a special education teacher with students in kindergarten through 5th grade with various disabilities. We moved to Pittsburgh in January 2018. I worked at Eisenhower teaching special education and then started teaching 2nd grade at Streams in 2018. Last year in 2019-2020 I taught 1st grade. I am incredibly excited to be teaching 2nd grade again this year!

I have a daughter named Jaynie who is 1 and a half! When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, running, spending time outdoors, baking, cooking, reading, and traveling. I can't wait to learn all about you!
