All About Mrs. Hendrickson
I was born and raised in Illinois in the western Chicago suburbs. I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois, where I also ran cross-country and track and field. I met my husband at Illinois, where he played baseball. I knew I wanted to pursue my master's and chose to do so at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon in Special Education. After two years, I moved back to Illinois and started teaching.
For two years, I worked as a special education teacher with students in kindergarten through 5th grade with various disabilities. My husband and I moved to Pittsburgh in January 2018. I worked at Eisenhower teaching special education and then last year taught 2nd grade at Streams! I am incredibly excited to be teaching 1st grade this year!
I have a daughter named Jaynie who was born at the end of this past January! I have a twin sister and two younger brothers. When I am not teaching, I enjoy running, coaching cross country and track, spending time outdoors, baking, cooking, reading, and traveling.
