Pantheon Choir to perform “Home Alone” in December
Upper St. Clair High School’s Pantheon Choir has been selected to perform with the Pittsburgh Symphony during a showing of the movie “Home Alone” on Dec. 20, 2018, at Heinz Hall.
Members of the Pittsburgh Symphony together with the Pantheon Choir will perform the Oscar-nominated score as the full-length movie is screened above the stage.
“Home Alone” features Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister, an 8-year-old boy who's accidentally left behind when his family leaves for Christmas vacation, and who must defend his suburban Chicago home against two bungling thieves.
The film's signature song, "Somewhere in my Memory," was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song and the Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media.
Information regarding the December performance – including ticketing information – will be shared later this year.
The Pantheon Choir, under the direction of Lorraine Milovac, is a mixed ensemble of female students from grades 11-12 and male students in grades 10-12. Selection to the ensemble is by audition only.
According to the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, tickets for "Home Alone" are scheduled to go on sale on Mon, Aug 20, 2018.
