Mrs. Young
Welcome families!
My name is Jessica Young and I am thrilled to be your child's first grade teacher at Baker Elementary School.
I grew up in a big family, here, in western Pennsylvania, and I have always loved being surrounded by children. Long before graduating from Frazier High School in Perryopolis, I knew that I wanted to become an early childhood education teacher. I attended California University of Pennsylvania where I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I also have certifications as a Reading Specialist and English as a Second Language.
After graduating college, I taught for four years with Montgomery County Public Schools in Rockville, Maryland. I spent three years teaching first grade and one year teaching kindergarten there.
Now, I am so happy and grateful to be back in Pennsylvania, where I can continue my rewarding career as an educator here with the Upper St. Clair School District. During my first year with the district, I taught kindergarten at both Eisenhower and Baker Elementary School. Now, I am thrilled to be in the first grade classroom once again!
Thank you for the opportunity to teach your child and sharing them with me. As a mother myself, I promise to nuture them and help them grow just as I would my own. I know that it is going to be a great school year, and I look forward to working with all of you!
Sincerely,
Jessica Young
