    Students participate in Mock Crash

Mock Crash Upper St. Clair High School hosted a Mock Crash on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, in the front parking lot of the high school. The event, attended by students and staff, is held annually as a pre-prom activity.

Sponsored by the high school’s Natural Helpers Program, the Mock Crash was conducted in cooperation with the Upper St. Clair Township Police, the Upper St. Clair Volunteer Fire Department and Tri-Community EMS. Each year, Bert L. Ghelarducci Jr. & Sons, an auto repair shop in Bridgeville, generously provides the vehicles used in the mock crash.

The staged crash is designed to encourage responsible decision-making. First responders along with several high school students portrayed a ‘real life’ scenario of an alcohol-related crash.

The Upper St. Clair High School Prom is set for 7 – 11 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, at PNC Park in downtown Pittsburgh. A Red Carpet event, providing an opportunity for family and friends to take photos, will begin at 4 p.m. at the high school. To help ensure the safety of students, prom attendees must travel to and from downtown via a school-sponsored Coach bus or car service.
