Boyce Bash raises $3,000 for Miracle League
The third annual Boyce Bash recently raised $3,000 to benefit the
Miracle League of the South Hills. Boyce Bash is a carnival-style event organized and facilitated by members of student council.
“The main attraction at the event was the obstacle course,” Justin Gremba, sixth grade teacher and student council sponsor, said. “The course is set up similar to an American Ninja Warrior course, with challenges to complete on the way to the finish.”
The events also featured a full concession stand that included Kona Ice as well as a basket raffle.
“The big sell are the teacher-specific baskets, where teachers donate baskets featuring items such as lunch with a teacher and librarian for a day,” Mr. Gremba said.
Members of student council presented its donation to Upper St. Clair High School senior AJ Carroll, who serves on the Miracle League of the South Hills/Casey’s Clubhouse Junior Board.
The Miracle League of the South Hills is carrying on the mission statement of all Miracle League fields: “Every Child Deserves A Chance to Play Baseball.” Casey's Clubhouse is an inclusive, wheelchair-accessible play area located just beyond the outfield fence at the Miracle League Field.
