    Fourth grade USC Red captures tournament title

    4th Grade Basketball Team The Upper St. Clair Red basketball team defeated Fox Chapel, 26-18, to capture the annual Upper St. Clair Fourth Grade Girls’ Tournament title on March 12, 2017.

    “In the opening round, they won a nail biter with clutch free throw shooting over Mt Lebanon 20-19,” Coach Johnny Terlecki said.

    Upper St. Clair Red defeated Norwin, 23-13, in the second round and again in the quarterfinals, 22-16. In the semifinals, USC Red routed Bethel Park 24-13.

    “We want to give a special shout out to our other fourth grade girls’ team, USC Black, for their strong showing in the tournament,” Coach Terlecki said. “They were one last minute overtime loss away from joining us in the semifinals.”

    Members of the fourth grade USC Red basketball team include: Myla Burchill, Ava Coyle, Kateri Hoy, Logan Hufnagel, Megan Hufnagel, Rylee Kalocay, Peyton McGregor, Noor El Nokali, Aubrey Pechart, Meredith Roman and Olivia Terlecki.

    “The girls also had a fantastic regular season,” Coach Terlecki said. “They finished runners up in both the regular season and league playoffs of the Chartiers Valley League.”
