Golf team supports Children’s Hospital
The Upper St. Clair High School golf team raised $6,385 to benefit Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC. The team will be featured on the 63rd KDKA Annual Free Care Fund Benefit Show on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016.
Through the annual Birdies for Cause, which began in 2011, varsity and junior varsity golfers collect flat donations and pledges for each birdie achieved by the team over the course of the season.
Throughout the last five years, the fundraiser has generated thousands of dollars for various local charities including the Autism Society of Pittsburgh; Allegheny Health Network hospitals for colon and rectal cancer research; and Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
