Ms. Garces
I am SUPER excited to be your teacher this 2021-2022 year! I can’t believe that the friends I knew in First Grade are now in THIRD GRADE!! I am already so proud of you! In Room 205, we are going to learn together as we read a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction, write in many different styles, solve challenging math problems and investigate new ideas through science, social studies. Team 205 is going to be AWESOME SAUCE!!
Here's a little about me! I grew up right here in USC and went to Streams Elementary. Check out my 3rd grade picture below!!! After graduating from USCHS, I received my bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and English from Boston College. I also received a Master's degree in English Education from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA.
I began my teaching career in 1997, and taught middle school ELA/Reading in Torrance, California and Plano, Texas. I married my high school sweetheart in 2000, and we made our home in Texas and Washington DC, before coming back to USC in 2008. I then decided to be a stay-at-home parent for my two boys, George (now 16 and a junior at USCHS) and Thomas (now 13 and in 7th grade at Fort Couch Middle School). With my return to teaching, I have been so fortunate to be a part of the Eisenhower family for the past five years.
