School-2-Home ConnectionThe Upper St. Clair School District makes a concerted effort to enhance the ways we communicate with our families and the community and to enable that communication to become more effective, efficient, and timely. The methods outlined below will be used to communicate district and school news, headlines, information, delays/cancellations, emergency situations or other items of interest.
www.uscsd.k12.pa.usOur website is the primary source of information for families and the community. There is a main district site and a site for each of the school buildings. On the main site, district-wide information is posted. Each of the school buildings maintains its own site, providing information specific to the building. This includes postings of headlines, menus, calendars, teacher pages, and so much more! All sites are also available for browsing on mobile devices.
eAlertsWhen an item is posted on any of the district websites, such as in Headlines or Announcements, the district/building may send an eAlert email to all who have registered/subscribed. You only need to register once for all of our sites. However, you need to subscribe to individual pages/sections on those sites to be “alerted” as needed. Families are encouraged to review and update subscriptions each year as students transition between schools, teachers and activities.Registering/subscribing for eAlerts is a very necessary part of the School-2-Home Connection for our families. The district utilizes social media to communicate and share district-wide news, upcoming events, photos, videos and more.
In the event of a school-wide or district-wide urgent situation (i.e. school delays/cancellations, evacuation, lockdown, relocation, emergency dismissal), information will be shared via our USCSD Automated Alert System (School Messenger). Emails, phone calls and/or text messages will be sent to the numbers/emails that are designated by parents/guardians through the Back-to-School Online process.In addition, School Messenger will be used to contact families via email with news and other information related to the district and/or specific school that their child attends. Please DO NOT UNSUBSCRIBE from the emails as you will also be opting out of the urgent phone and text messages too.
The USC Online Bulletin Board provides information about non-district sponsored community events, activities, camps, classes, concerts, and other opportunities that might be of interest to our families and community members. Information is updated as it is received - check back often for the latest information. Click here to visit the Bulletin Board. The USCSD Parent Portal is your “gateway” to completing the “Back To School Online” registration for grades K-12 as well as for viewing your child’s academic information in grades 5-12. We want to emphasize how important the “Back To School Online” registration form is to the health and welfare of your child while at school. So, when you receive your Back To School mailing in August, please take a few minutes to go online and verify the data that we have for your child via Parent Portal and “Back To School Online.” For more information about the Parent Portal, go to our main page under Quick Links and click on "Parent Portal Information."
